Structure, Sign and Play

In this series of 29 prints, the image frame and grid provide formal structures that facilitate a dialogue between inside/ outside and a tension between what is known, assumed and thought. Situated in the Dorset village that I grew up in, this project draws connections with Derrida's essay Structure, Sign and Play – In which, he states that there can be no fixed and final meaning. There is only a "play of presence and absence", between all that has been, and all that is yet to come.
