A series of three illustrations for the Courage & Strength issue of Beneficial Shock! magazine.
The text by Jez Conolly discusses experiences of playing ‘War’ as a child in the 1970s and then goes on to discuss the varied roles that cowards play in cinema. These include the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz (1939), Isaac Davis in Manhattan (1979), Major Alan Schaefer in Predator (1987) and Donald Gennaro in Jurassic Park (1993).
This work received a Merit award in the editorial category from the 3X3 International Illustration awards 2022 and a ‘Best of the best’ award in the publishing category at the 9th Hiiibrand Illustration Awards.
